As more and more major movie releases are delayed because of the coronavirus outbreak, some Chinese moviegoers just got some news to be excited about. Warner Bros. anounced on its official Weibo account that a remastered 4K release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone is headed to Chinese cinemas in 3D. But there’s no release date yet.
The Harry Potter franchise is immensely popular in China, so the news quickly became a trending topic on Weibo, where many users expressed excitement. “Eight movies together please! I will live in the cinema!” one popular comment reads.
The coronavirus outbreak has kept cinemas closed across China for about two months, grinding the industry to a halt. Now US cinemas are also closing as the coronavirus spreads rapidly outside China.
