China’s largest gaming convention will take place in Shanghai this summer as scheduled, the organizers announced on Monday. The announcement comes after Japan’s Tokyo Game Show and the United States’ E3 both canceled their offline events this year over coronavirus concerns.

ChinaJoy, set for July 31 to August 3, is becoming an increasingly important showcase not only for local giants like Tencent and NetEase, but also for foreign companies hoping to reach out to China’s gamers. Last year, Nintendo joined for the first time to tease the Switch that officially launched in the country in December. Sony and Microsoft, which make the PlayStation and Xbox respectively, have also shown up in recent years.

The organizers say public health control measures will be in place during the event. All visitors will be required to register with their real names and present their health code along with a valid Chinese ID card or passport. China’s health code system assigns each citizen a color-based QR code to indicate whether they’re a potential coronavirus carrier. ChinaJoy says temperature checks will also be carried out at the venue.
