Just hours before Apple announced its new budget iPhone SE, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor unveiled its flagship series for the year in China -- and unlike the iPhone SE, this one has 5G.

The Honor 30 series also ditches the LCD screens found on previous phones and upgrades to OLED displays. This allows the screen to curve on both sides. The Honor 30 and 30 Pro also have an in-screen fingerprint sensor, replacing the side-mounted sensor on last year’s Honor 20 series.

Honor is known for bringing Huawei’s flagship specs to cheaper phones. This time around, the Honor 30 Pro features Huawei’s in-house chip -- the Kirin 990 5G -- that’s also used in Huawei’s latest P40 series.

Starting at 3,999 yuan (US$565), the Honor 30 Pro is about US$100 pricier than the new iPhone SE in China, which has a smaller 4.7-inch screen -- and no 5G.
