Huawei has a new smart TV, and the company has high hopes for it. The company unveiled the Smart Screen X65 on Wednesday with a price of 24,999 yuan (U$3,540). Huawei’s head of IoT products Jerry Zhi first introduced the new TV on microblogging platform Weibo back in March by saying it would be Huawei’s most expensive consumer product. He added that it will become another central product for the company after smartphones.

Huawei has been working to convince everyone that this is no ordinary TV. In addition to a 65-inch 4K OLED panel, the TV also includes a 24-megapixel pop-up camera with AI auto-focus. It supports gesture and voice controls and has 14 speakers. The TV runs Huawei's HarmonyOS and is powered by the Honghu 898 processor. It’s available for preorder in China, but Huawei has said nothing about plans for other markets.

While this is Huawei’s most expensive TV, it’s not the company’s first. Last year, Huawei budget brand Honor introduced a smart TV called Vision that sells for up to 12,199 yuan (US$1,725). That one also has a pop-up camera and the company refers to it as a “smart display.”
