Photos of what’s said to be Samsung’s next foldable smartphone have appeared on Weibo. Posted by Chinese tech blogger Wang Benhong, the pictures show a design that seems to match what Samsung teased at its annual developers conference back in October. It resembles Motorola’s new Razr, which looks like the original flip phone but with a flexible display inside.

Samsung released its first bendable handset, the US$1,980 Galaxy Fold, in September. It came after a months-long delay following complaints of broken review units. Samsung’s upcoming foldable phone, however, could cost a lot less at an estimated price of about US$845, according to The Korea Herald. If true, that would also make it far cheaper than the US$1,500 Motorola Razr.

Samsung isn’t the only company betting big on foldable devices. Huawei’s mobile boss said this week that the Chinese giant is working on an improved version of the Mate X.
