Vivo teases third NEX phone in video before September launch

NEX 3 to feature pop-up camera and waterfall display

Vivo is teasing a new flagship handset for this month. In a quick video posted to Weibo, the Vivo NEX 3 appears to keep the pop-up selfie camera pioneered by the first NEX, along with a so-called “waterfall screen” -- a display that curves around the edges, making it seem as if images and videos are falling off the sides. On the back are three cameras arranged in a circle, which Vivo has said is inspired by watches.

The NEX line is reserved for Vivo’s most daring designs. The first NEX had one of the first pop-up selfie cameras ever. The second one ditched that for a second screen on the back.

The NEX 3 will come with a 5G version and is expected to be released in September.
