Xiaomi is no stranger to phones with high megapixel counts. It already introduced a 108 megapixel camera in its US$2,800 concept phone, the Mi MIX Alpha, which has a screen that wraps around the body. There’s also a 48 megapixel camera in its Mi A3 and Redmi Note 7 Pro, and the company teased 64 megapixel camera technology (developed with Samsung) for its lower-priced Redmi phones.

But it’s worth noting that megapixels aren’t everything. The Google Pixel 4 and iPhone 11 Pro have been widely praised for their cameras, but each has just a 12MP and 12.2MP sensor respectively.
